Change of Season Health Strategies

With the holidays fast approaching and the weather gearing up for a change, now is the perfect time to jot down health strategies for staying active and reducing stress. It doesn’t have to be complicated – a one page bulleted list of the top 5 strategies on the bathroom mirror, or, utilizing your wellness tracking app to set the pace on your winter workout plans can do the trick!

For the desert climates, now is prime time to take your workouts back outside. AllTrials website offers a detailed list of open trails for every experience and interest level. It is also a great idea to subscribe to newsletter lists for local resorts and businesses such as lululemon, as they often offer free yoga or mindfulness classes on weekends or evenings.

For the cooler climates, there are many other ways to stay active indoors such as:

  • Snowboard or ski trip
  • Ice Skate at your local arena
  • Hot yoga or pilates classes
  • Re-up that gym membership and take advantage of the weekly classes
  • Take a walk with a friend around the mall and catch up while being active
  • Participate in indoor sports like racquetball, basketball, volleyball etc.

As always, eating a whole food diet and avoiding processed foods, as well as getting 6-8 hours of sleep nightly helps our immune system stay in tip-top shape so we can be active and healthy throughout the holiday season.

At Valley Schools, we regularly share health strategies with our members to help them stay active, healthy and happy. Sign-up for our monthly WellStyles™ newsletter today and contact our Wellness Team for more information on our award winning wellness program.
